Clay Bodvin is a dynamic artist within his genre, always looking to push past his current limits of the moment. This makes him an artist worth watching.
The Bodvin describes his creative approach as "...operating at the intersection of the message and the medium" where he fuses new technology with old processes. Photomedia technology allows a strong focus on the edge found between object-shapes, colour-fields and surface-textures while pixelated areas of flat-colour sit next to lush, continuous-tone highlights.
Bodvin's photomedia combines asumptuous, figurative, representational and object-orientated art experiences with a particular focus on the still-life genre.
ARTROM Gallery is pleased to offer 'Still Life Room III, The Order of the Silver Spoon' as print of the Month for April. This piece was one of Bodvin's first in a series devoted to the exploration of creating so-called floating imagery in a foreground with the background establishing a solid constant in intense and concentrated colors. Movement and stillness together creating an interesting dialogue and exchange of sensations.
