My predominant theme of domestication;
food, flowers, and children, all painted with
various color palettes, expressing the simple
beauty of the everyday while teasing the intellect
with undercurrents of implied meaning.
I experiment with color,
composition and paint application in my pursuit
to create artwork that uplifts, encourages thought,
and invoke feelings and memories. I endeavor
to incorporate techniques of the old masters
tempered in my own fashion with modern conveniences
and materials. It is my hope that the injected
aspect of naive honesty displayed through color
and form will delight and incite positive responses
in all viewers.
If there is a complicated
fringe to my work (for those who need deeper
meaning) it is my resolve to enhance and not
to diminish the viewer’s experience with
menacing and destructive visuals.
“If you get
simple beauty and naught else,
You get about the best thing God invents.”
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
