ON THE EDGE
The “on the edge” concept is not totally new. Actually  it was born with a great influence from expressionism, impressionism, romanticism, etc. We are not going to speak of technique, methods or materials here. The only thing that counts are feelings and emotions. Nothing else matters. The artist works on the edge, creating each piece as the last one. He puts all his heart into it and shows the deepest corners of his soul.

There is an old Celtic legend about the thorn bird.( C. Mccalough used it for his book “The Thorn Birds”) The bird sings just one time in its life. It finds the sharpest and the biggest thorn and falls with its breast on the it. The bird sings while putting its heart closer and closer to the thorn. It sings until it dies. And nothing in the whole world can be better than this song. The angels admire the song and God smiles in heaven.
All the best is brought by great suffering.

“On the edge” artists always create with a naked heart and a bleeding soul.  When the work is done they feel empty and as dry as a desert.

Ukraine is on the edge of Asia and Europe. We are wild and hot-blooded like Asians but our education and culture is European. We live on the edge of centuries and millenniums.
The artist was in China for 4 years to combine the contemporary European technique with traditional Chinese art. Now he is back to Ukraine.
