As today’s technology explodes, endless labels leap into existence in a perpetual effort to define the ultimate result of the creative process.

What is it: photography, digital art, digital manipulation, photographic manipulation, digital collage? The list of potential labels becomes limitless. In an effort to honestly express the nature of what I create, I choose to call it “artography”.

For me, artography is the creation of a unique artistic image from one of my original photographs. It requires taking the initial beauty, created by nature or man, captured by the camera’s lens, as seen through the artist’s eye, and transforming it, yet again, so as to highlight or emphasize a particular aspect of the original subject. I have learned that by carefully exploring the elements of an image, something extraordinary can be coaxed from the mundane. Light, shape, colour, and texture act as springboards for the creation of powerful images which can, potentially, evoke a wide range of emotions from the viewer.

I am an artist. Art is the expression of the inner essence of my being. Artography provides me with countless opportunities to share unique perceptions of the world in which we live. Fine Art offers me a vehicle with which to express my esoteric visions.
