Lian Wang
photographer / China

I've developed my appreciation for the texture, the shape, and the tone of wonderful dreamlike settings in black-and-white photos.
Previously, I usually took color pictures. I have since discovered the fantastic feelings of black-and-white work.
I am more interested in finding new areas to do photography, but I don’t care for reality, I care more for searching after cultured thought in the back of certainty.
Once I find an uncommon and surprising subject, I infuse my emotions and feelings into the photographic work, which will definitely lead to my great satisfaction.
When I find a new and interesting subject, I don’t try to duplicate previous successes, I always search for a new frame… a different time, and refuse “already knowing”,
I always use Leica M6, 35/2 and 50/2 lens.
Gallery Comment :
Lian Wang's photographs almost always include people doing what they normally do. He captures these moments and extracts and expresses sensations with the subtleties of shadows and the play of light that enhance forms and features and elevate these images of day-to-day activities to art. This, combined with an impeccable curatorial standard, makes his work very collectable. (dg)
