As an Artist Leon Oks tries to capture the essence of images, so that his deep feelings Intertwine with the colors and shape, which are flowing lyrical on the canvas and convey the truth about our existence. Artist unite the romanticism of nature with figures into a landscape of fluidity and movement, with this approach, his emotions release the beauty purity and power that are intrinsic when nature and humanity become one.

Oks has been honored to receive many national and international awards, one of them being the 2000 International juried Art Competition entitled “VISION 2000” ORT Institute, Chicago, IL. In this competition, Oks received the “Silver Brush Award” and “Award of Excellence”.

The artist has been included in numerous one-person and group shows across America and Europe. His work is in many public, private and museum collections. He has been published in numerous books and magazines.

The International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England has nominated Leon Oks as an International Visual Artist of the year for 2004 and selected him as one of the TOP 100 CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS for 2005.

The World Academy of Letters on behalf of the American Biographical Institute’s nominated Leon Oks with Master Diplomas for International Contemporary Art and Professional Instructor of Painting and Drawing. Additionally, he has demonstrated his painting techniques on television, and has been interviewed on radio.

Yet no honor or award equals the satisfaction of hearing that someone is moved by one of the artist paintings. His work remains a bridge from his strong feelings to the outside world. Leon Oks continue to walk that bridge with humility and reverence.
