Painting is part of my life since childhood. First experience on painting with an older artist an friend.
Frequent meetings with Heinrich Blunk, Paul. A. Weber and Karl Schmidt-Rotluff since my youth.
I am painting my whole life among earning my money as consultant for social organizations.
Typical for my paintings is the combination of expression and realism. In most of the paintings, the scepticism of the sociologist with the passion of the artist.
My landscapes reflected the beauty of nature and their might in view of what man did to her. My paintings of people reflected the sadness, loneliness and the fear of people in our times.
Exhibitions since 2003 in northern Germany, Denmark and Poland.

Holger Wittig Koppe continues the long line of Expressionist art in which heavy emphasis is placed on communication through emotion and moves beyond the limitations of objective subject matter and concentrates on the feeling and impact derived from the artist's inspiration. The artist seeks to reveal inner, spiritual and emotional foundations of human existence, rather than the external, surface appearances. He raises subjective feelings above objective observations, to reflect a state of mind in reaction to times of social upheaval, or disasters, chaos and oppression, such as the world is experiencing now. The crude and brutal depiction of "Woman with Red Lips" is an exemplary work. (DG)
