Born in 1970, the first 26 years of my life
were spent on the north side of Chicago, Illinois.
I began my College studies as a Mechanical Engineer.
However, encouraging voices echoing from the
past and the attention my pieces brought at
that time, quickly clarified the direction I
was called toward.
I transferred to Columbia, a College for the
Arts in downtown Chicago. I received a Bachelors
in the Arts Degree with a major in Illustration,
and have been working in the Graphic Design
field since 1997.
My relocation to south Florida, in 1996, prompted
a spiritual awakening that ignited a creative
explosion within. The size of my paintings grew
majestic and the colors more vivid. The path
had its moments of pitfalls, where everyday
life smothered creativity, fortunately it has
always managed to re-ignite. In turn, this has
given birth to more dynamic pieces with substance,
through life experiences.
Today I work to keep the fire lit, not allowing
life to darken my God gifted experience of creating.
My early inspirations came from the harmonic
composition of Peter Paul Rubens, the flowing
images of Georgia O'Keeffe, the brilliant colors
and boundless imagination of Salvador Dali.
Today, along with these masters, inspiration
comes from the wide spectrum life has to offer.
The moment it sparks, ideas and images begin
forming within. I continuously use my experiences,
emotions, knowledge and imagination to compose
a piece that cools what has evolved into an
internal fire.

I have little control over the outcome
of the work. The guidance I receive comes from
the Divine, my purpose is to pay attention and
follow through with this direction. The mind,
body, and spirit are interwoven in my work. This
trinity brings out the essence of art, resulting
in an experience for both the artist and the viewer.
The essence of art, being the spirit, is the focus
of my painting today and the goal is to continue
arousing the spirit, imagination and creativity
in others.
