In 1912, Wassily Kandinsky wrote, “Consciously
or unconsciously, artists turn gradually toward
an emphasis on their materials, examining them
spiritually, weighing in the balance the inner
worth of those elements out of which their art
is best suited to create.” “The
artist must not forget, while learning this,
that each one of his materials conceals within
itself the way in which it should be used, and
it is this application that the artist must
discover.
The art that DiAddezzio creates is a magical
symphony of intuition that marries art and technology.
Both disciplines are used to create the images
but one cannot work without the other. First
the abstract matrix must be created and only
letting go of the material world allows this
to happen. Once this has happened the result
is art that is capable of standing alone on
its own. The artist takes his creation and marries
it with technology to give it a sense of being
in the representative world yet it contains
only abstract geometrical shapes and forms.
Some of his mixed media images contain one or
more of his original works, a collage of original
art used to create emotional response from the
viewer. It has been described as a language
where no vocabulary is necessary and the artist
does not dispute this statement. Competition
jury’s have said it is the perfect use
of elements, never too much, always just enough,
images that need to be experienced more than
understood. Although the process has many steps
and is very time consuming, DiAddezzio has said
that it is effortless and when the final image
is ready, it is given to a Qoro, LLC who is
the only company in the world that can take
his mixed media images and put them on canvas
using acrylic paints. The artist takes these
canvases and then takes them to yet another
level with brush and paints to create more texturing
and lighting effects. This multi level approach
takes time and patience but in the end the artist
sees these creations as part of himself, so
time is irrelevant.
His original works hangs next to Warhol originals
and Peter Max originals in the homes of collectors.
You can find his original paintings hanging
in business offices. His work is collected in
Europe and the US. He has won international
art competitions and created posters for international
festivals, he has been the subject of editorials
and his work has been used to illustrate the
influence of digital enhancement in art. His
work has been part of museum exhibits and used
as cover art on magazines. His style is unique
and after viewing only a few of his pieces it
is easily recognizable. It has taken the artist
20 years to perfect the style and it is still
a constant evolving process. Always experimenting
with paints and other new texturing materials
being introduced. To date the artists body of
work contains over 300 original illustrations
and paintings and over 400 mixed media works.
After observing the artist create an original
work, an observer of the process said it was
like he was putting together a puzzle he had
never seen but knew exactly where each piece
went.
