I do not strive to change the world, but rather to embrace its wonder and share, “bright particular moments in time”.
My artistic journey began with training as a scenic artist. As a result of that training, my styles vary but my message remains consistent. All of my work is presented as a scene designed to illicit emotion from an audience. Each photograph is a stage and each composition a performance captured in its own time, place and feeling.
I have numerous ‘plays’ in progress. The Sail Away Series springs from my travels in the West Indies. A study of sails and sky, of geometric shapes against the Caribbean backdrop. Images that ‘take you there’.
Solar Cities is an on-going project transforming ordinary cityscapes into an exaggerated stage with heightened colors and feelings.
Throughout the years, I have continued to design and execute sets and lights for local theatre groups. I love to paint and explore other media.
Other plays are currently available on my website.

Bruce Richardson has an eye for
composing the shot at the moment; for seeing and capturing
what needs to be seen. Modifying and elevating the tonal
qualities in his photography exhilirates and energizes the
final image. These exagerations produce stunning prints.
"The Sail Away" series of 16" x 20" prints are majestic
studies of form, color and movement against illuminated
skies. Crisp, classic style in enticing new settings
enhanced with courageous adventures of color. The sensation
is a lightness and clarity. This image clarity is contrasted
with the density of the "Solar Cities" series.
Visually
stimulating with sensations of saturation and weight. The 12
Portfolio images, although very different in subject matter,
show the wholeness of vision of the artist.
