Colorado artist Anton Kirchner will feature 12 recent large scale Artworks on canvas in two simultaneous One Person Shows entitled "Memoirs from the Interior". One will be held at The Next Gallery - 3659 Navajo - Denver, Colorado from Dec 1 to Dec 17.

The other is a virtual Exhibition, which can be viewed at the Artrom Gallery website, www.artromgallery.com.

In this photographic montage series, Kirchner separates and juxtaposes disparate images with a strong horizontal line which cuts across many of the works, provoking the mind to reflect and find relationships with the images which are not immediately apparent, operating sometimes at subliminal dreamlike levels of consciousness. The upper and lower parts of the paintings are totally independent, but when they are perceived together, they force a shifting of the mind to connect these visual fields in some way.

These surrealistic and elegantly detailed and constructed pieces sometimes contain partly hidden and veiled particulars which require close inspection to be perceived, as new elements wait to be discovered. The result is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Each of the Artworks in this series is available in signed and numbered, limited editions. Some of them have appliqués of acrylic metallic colors and gels to achieve a more painterly surface than is possible with the straight giclee process.

Kirchner considers himself a painter of light. This light permeates his work and at times this illumination seems to come from deep within to provide an unusual depth to his impeccably crafted pieces.
