To the International Community of Arts and Culture,
As ARTROM Network (ARTROM 'Home' Gallery, ARTROM Events and ARTROM PRess) evolves, so does our interest and investigation of creativity. Those of you who have participated in our events, projects and exhibitions, know that the motivation behind our work has always been tied to the idea that creativity is one of the essential and fundamental elements for the evolution and maintenance of a healthy society.
Now more than ever this process needs to be supported, nurtured and brought into a larger and clearer awareness within the context of daily life, not only for the artists but for the public as well. This is what pushes us forward.
Our 'creative work' is to continue to search for, evolve and experiment with, new and worthwhile forms to help artists and our public meet, converge and communicate. When conditions find a sort of harmony, when the pieces seem to fall into place, when a connection or common ground between objectives for the gallery, the artists and the public arises, then we know we have found something new to offer.
Our work is directed at meeting the needs, through a balanced collaboration, of all three elements; the gallery, the artist and the public.
ARTROM 'Home' Gallery is now recognized as the 1st HOME gallery in Rome. This has helped us establish a reputation as a gallery with interesting and alternative ideas, as well as new and stimulating methods for creating a relationship with contemporary art. Our series of "art experiences" has aroused great interest and enthusiasm.
The Last Year :: 2011
A great emphasis was put on the Artist Presentation Space and Calendar of Events during this last year.
We felt very honored to collaborate with 24 artists from different parts of the world during the four exhibitions presented last year; Tutte le Strade (all Roman artists), Women in the Arts (6 international women artists), Passi d'Eroe, Homage to Great Masters and Ancient Times(a Swedish sculptor and an Israeli photographer) and TOPTEN, 10 artisti per casa (winners from our International Art Competitions). Each one of the exhibitions included a calendar of events which gave our public the opportunity to further discover the artists and their works through our evenings of "art experiences".
This Coming Year :: 2012
Our international Art Competitions have continuously offered an opportunity to meet new artists and to help them find suitable personal avenues for greater visibility. Through collaboration we have had the opportunity to deepen our relationship with the selected award winners. This has always been an important and fondamental element of what we do.
We have now decided to begin to integrate the competitions with the exhibitions, giving the winners an opportunity to present their work at the Artist Presentation Space of ARTROM Gallery in Rome. This will allow and provide for new forms of promotional opportunities. We will be offering two important Competition/Exhibition projects: Beholding Beauty (international) and Focus on Italy (national). We are very excited about this!
The need to integrate a social aspect into our event planning has brought to life the 'ART supporting Social Projects' idea. The first event will be in collaboration with American artist David Genovesi. We will offer his paintings and sculptures for sale in an effort to help raise funds for the work he is doing with young people on the island of Dominica.
A special thank you ...
I would like to personally thank Dafne Crocella, manager of ARTROM Events for her untiring energy, enthusiasm and constant flow of ideas. She was an essential part of the success of last years events and exhibitions. A heartfelt thanks also goes to various collaborators; Paola Marinelli has been steadfast in her support and initiation of our "art experiences" and has been a eloquent guide to the Storytelling evenings. Serena and Marco from Artekreativa also played an important part in animating the space during various events with their creative input and projects.
We are always open to ideas from artists, public or anyone interested in working together.
Wishing everyone a fruitful year . . .
