ARTROM Gallery opened their sixth exhibition 'Beyond Normality' at the Artist Presentation Space with a collective of four photogaphers. Participating in the city-wide 'FotoGrafia' 7th Annual International Festival in Rome this exhibition presents an opposite approach to the festival theme of 'Seeing Normality'.

Inspired by the obvious possibilites of an art such as photography to see beyond, to reveal that which is not always visible at the moment, these four artists have explored and created another vision - beyond normality - either through technique or subject matter.

Michael Maggid, Antonio Amen and Bruce Richardson are all ARTROM Gallery GUILD Members and we are delighted to bring their works to Rome. Delia Amicone is a young Italian photographer whom we are very pleased to present as our Italian Guest photographer.

Michael Maggid / USA
Six works from Michael Maggid's 'Experimental Nudes Series' ; an outstanding series of works of soft but potent emotional content, a starkness within a sensual environment. Maggid has been creating for 45 years; first as a newspaper photographer, then working freelance creating album covers for the famous bands of the 70's - Van Morrison, Dobbie Brothers, Rolling Stones, then moving on to explore the incredible creative opportunites within the new digital technology.

Antonio Amen / Portugal
A photographer who soaks in his surroundings, with eyes and senses ready to capture that which he finds relevant.

Bruce Richardson / USA
Photographer Bruce Richardson has embraced the potential of digital technology in his very effective and harmonious use of the "mirror" effect. His two series "Mirrored Wonders" and "Tailfeathers" are strong examples of this. His piece 'Coalesce' recently won Second Prize in the Prix De La Photografie Paris (PX3) in the Fine Art category, choosen from thousands of photography entries.

Delia Amicone / Italy
Delia is a young Italian photographer with a dedication to the "feel" of a photograph and for this reason continues to print her works in the darkroom using traditional techniques that she experiences as an important part of the final photograph.
