Artist Statment:
Sabatier is a well known emerging Latin American plastic artist whose ventures into abstraction amount often to rebellion against being typecast, whether by the Western or the Caribbean cultural establishment. Born during the decade of the 70’s and raised by a multicultural family, her works points decisively toward the future of Latin American art.
Her academic achievements include a Bachelors Degree in Communications from the University of the Sacred Heart, San Juan Puerto Rico. Also, she studied plastic arts since her childhood with master painters Jose Azaustre Miro, Jackeline Pagan and Miguel Conesa Osuna.
Since 1999 she has participated in 21 collective and individual exhibitions in countries that include Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, USA and Peru. Her portfolio is composed of paintings, drawings and posters.
Sabatier’s works have been exhibited in galleries, museums and universities all over America. Collectors of her works include individuals, institutions and private foundations. An avid art student Sabatier has her studio in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
