Jury Comment:
Weird is the word and Yumiko says it in her own peculiar way. Humour with a sour note is her chosen style. Grim and grisly and a bit sinister. Cartoonish vignettes narrating improbable situations, spontaneously exploring forbidden themes, not so much to shock but to provoke, created without the pretention of creating "high" Art. Fittingly appropriate for the Competition theme, we felt her work worthy of the Third Place Award.
