Artist Statement ::

Throughout the ages, a woman’s cultural, social and symbolic functions have varied, starting as the eternal mother, developing into biblical profits and heroines, then becoming powerful queens in Egypt, goddesses in both eastern and western mythology, and queens, saints and revolutionists in Europe.

In my paintings, Women are nature. They are the landscape and the seas, the rocks, the birds and the seashells. They are larger than life; Both mother earth and earth itself.

As he studies my paintings, the viewer is invited to take a spiritual journey into the inner-life of the universal woman. Surrounded by the large-scale paintings, he becomes a part of the environment around him, which allows him to follow the complex thread that unites the greater series.

Each painting in the series reflects a unique state of mind, a specific and varied stage in the evolvement of this complex thread. Though each painting is a part of a journey and a larger whole, it stands solidly defined, individually on its own.

Whether viewed as an individual painting or a complete series, my work illuminates the complex inner-life of Woman
