Artist Statement :: Katrin Alvarez was born 1944 in Güstrow (Mecklenburg). As the daughter of an art tutor, she grew up  with creativity and aesthetics. She soon discovered the fascination exuding from colors and shapes as a little child. After her high-school diploma Katrin Alvarez passed the German Legal State Exam. She spent two years as a trainee with a daily newspaper to become an editor. She composed satirical poems and published a novel. She never stopped creating her own world, her own language through painting and drawing. A day without arts is wasted time. Katrin Alvarez is a self-educated artist. > Visit artist's website
