Artist Comment :: Leon Keer, born in Utrecht, The Netherlands in 1970. With respect and affection for the material I see myself as a devoted craftsman in the art of painting. Inspired by strange forms and patterns in society and surroundings, I take up my brush every day. The paintings express a perfection and sense of dimension that is revealed in dancing and floating forms which are balanced in spite of the lively interaction. Determination makes the compositions great in the literal sense of the word. The framework of the painting does not limit the imagination.

Gallery Comment :: This Dutch painter has facility and technique, obvious experience, a sense of color and composition and not least an incredible imagination. Keer puts them all together and offers a feast for the eyes that take in all the little detailed natural forms that intermingle with outrageous man-made objects to maybe make some sense of it all. Strangely, there seems to be a silence associated with his work, as if the scenes we are witnessing take place in space - outer space, in unknown ancient future galaxies. Leon Keer is a painter that deserves respect. D.G.
