Artist Statement:

My painting is not a genre of fantasy. If I want to escape, it’s from fantasy , whether the illusions I have made for myself, or the ones that have been made for me. Both sorts are a source of destruction. I am interested in more of life , not getting away from it. I try to find a visual communication for what I am and for how I am as time goes on .Some of what I paint, in an inward sense, I do see, whether it be through dance, trance dance , or dream or flashes of vision .I know that I have to admit myself rather than forget.The images by which I am moved to paint are not looked for. They are part of what happens to me. I only look for the painting.
