Knight transmits the power of line and the grace of the minimum gesture to interpret the human condition. He portrays humans doing what they do with a flowing graphic style and an eye for composition that only experience can bring.
Artist Statement ::
M. Wayne Knight has been a graphic designer/artist for over three decades and inherently spans the transition from traditional graphic techniques to the digital. He has had many roles as a designer including, print, video and web art direction. He has managed numerous projects. These projects have included Illustration, computer and traditional graphic design, portraiture, set design, medical illustration, corporate image, murals, architectural rendering, forensic evidence, logo design, video production, photography etc.
In 2002 Mr. Knight transitioned from corporate art director to full time teaching at Humboldt State University in Northern California. He has redesigned the graphics and digital program in the university’s Art Department where he has established a 24-station state of the art digital lab, reconstructed the curriculum and inspired students to combine their traditional art skills with digital format. Asst. Professor Knight continues to practice his computer illustration and graphic design skills with numerous freelance and pro-bono projects.
