Artist Statement ::

Born and educated in the Netherlands I came to Canada in the late 1950's. At first I became very interested in Performing Art's, this lasted for many years, acting, directing and many other aspects of theatre.

In 1993 I moved to Vancouver Island and started painting attending many courses and with hard work I found my muse.

My art is about texture, color, mixed media which are my main interests. I like it when the painting takes over. At times I might start with an idea but most of the time it just takes me where it wants to go.
